American Car Labz: Car Audio Store

A car audio and lighting storefront built around a vehicle lookup: a buyer selects their vehicle and the catalogue narrows to the parts that fit it. Weblynx built the store and designed the interface, across eight product categories with an admin dashboard for catalogue and orders.

The problem

Car audio and lighting parts have a problem most retail does not. A part either fits the vehicle or it does not, and the customer often cannot tell from the product page.

Someone looking for LED headlight bulbs for their truck is not shopping by brand or by spec. They are asking one question: which of these will fit my vehicle? Get it wrong and the part comes back, which costs the store the sale, the shipping both ways, and the customer.

So a catalogue of thousands of parts is only useful if a buyer can narrow it to the handful that work for the vehicle sitting in their driveway.

What we built

A storefront for car audio and lighting parts, with a vehicle lookup at the front of it.

The bulb finder is where most buyers start. They select their vehicle, and the catalogue narrows to the LEDs that fit it. No cross-referencing part numbers, no guessing from a spec sheet, and no ordering something that arrives and does not fit.

Around it sits the rest of the store: eight product categories from subwoofers and amplifiers through to stereos and bass processors, with filtering by brand, price and rating for buyers who already know what they want.

An admin dashboard covers the catalogue and orders.

The interface design was ours as well as the build.

Architecture

The storefront is built on Next.js.

The vehicle fitment data came from the client, who knows their catalogue. Our work was turning it into something a buyer could use: resolving a vehicle selection into the set of parts that fit it, and doing it fast enough that the lookup feels like part of browsing rather than a separate step.

The finder sits behind authentication, so it is not reachable from a signed-out session.

The result

Six months from start to live.

The delivered platform covers vehicle-based product discovery, a filtered catalogue across eight categories, and an admin dashboard for catalogue and order management.
